Hi, I’m Mark Stavish

This course is a complete introduction to magic from the perspective of Pennsylvania German Folk Magic, or Brauche. As a foundation, brauche is rooted in Medieval and Classical magical practices, and therefore is a perfect gateway to understanding Classical, Medieval, Renaissance, and even modern magical theory and practice. Coming from a family that can trace braucherei back to Central Europe, I am in a unique position to provide not only instruction in traditional folk magic, but also its relationship to Pietist, Boehmenist, Paracelcian, and Rosicrucian theosophy. I, along with several others, have also been recognized as a holder of these traditions by the last surviving Elder of the Beissel lineage.
