Three Books - Three Instructors - Six Great Weeks
Since its first complete publication in 1533, The Three Books of Occult Philosophy have been a source of discussion, debate, and deference in Western esoteric circles. Drawing heavily on the philosophical and practical works of Marsilio Ficino, Johannes Reuchlin, Pico della Mirandola, as well as classical authors, Agrippa takes his reader into the world of the Renaissance Magus.
Starting with the Elemental or material world in Book One, the aspiring adept is then introduced to the significant role of astrology in occult workings in Book Two, and finally, in Book Three, the celestial realms are revealed so that the entire cosmos in seen as an integrated web of Being, a veritable playground of Beingness itself.
This course was initially held for six consecutive weeks starting on Monday, August 21st and continuing until September 25, 2023. These are the complete video recordings from those classes.
Course Instructors
Ike Baker has been studying esoteric traditions both western and eastern for almost twenty years. He is an author, musician, teacher, and a practitioner of several western initiatic traditions. Jaime Paul Lamb is a consulting astrologer and tarotist in Phoenix, AZ. He is the Instructor of Astrology for the Institute for Hermetic Studies (IHS). Lamb is a member of the American Federation of Astrologers (AFA); certified in Hellenistic Astrology through Chris Brennan’s premier course on the subject; and is a current student of the eminent horary astrologer and astrological magician, Christopher Warnock. Book One
Book One explores the Elemental World and the role of plants, minerals, animals, and the doctrine of correspondences in magic.
Book Two
Book Two examines the role of astrology in magic and its use for find the name of one's Holy Guardian Angel.
Book Three
Book Three explains the celestial realms and their relationship to the magical path and the previous two books.

The Secrets of Magic Revealed
While widely referenced The Three Books of Occult Philosophy are often less well understood. This in part is because of the time of their writing and the philosophical or magical worldview needed to grasp its references, as well as an intentional act on the part of Agrippa. He states, "For we have delivered this Art in such a manner, that it may not be hid from the prudent and intelligent, and yet may not admit wicked and incredulous men ... You therefore sons of wisdom and learning, search diligently in this book, gathering together our dispersed intentions, which in divers places we have propounded, and what is hid in one place, we make manifest in another..."
